Originally from Buffalo, New York, Frankie came to Boston in 2009 to initially pursue a B.F.A in Musical Theatre from Emerson College. After two years, he transferred to the Boston Conservatory where he completed his B.M in vocal performance, as well as his M.M in Music Education. He has worked at various schools in the Newton and Milton area. He will be returning to the Conservatory for an additional year to pursue his second M.M in Vocal Pedagogy.
Aside from working as a freelance voice instructor, Mr. Campofelice has worked for various music programs primarily through the Boston Conservatory including the school’s summer Vocal Choral Intensive (VCI) under Patty Thom and Bill Cutter in 2016, as well as the Conservatory’s unique Music Program for Students on the Autism Spectrum under Rhoda Bernard since 2014. He has also served as a co-facilitator for the autism program’s pilot Inner Harmony Chorus in 2015-16. Aside from that, he also teaches private voice and piano at the North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC), the Eliot Upper School in Boston, as well as Amy Dancz's voice studio located at the Steinhart building in downtown Boston.
Mr. Campofelice’s vocal studies rest primarily in the musical theatre and classical repertoire. At the Conservatory his opera credits include The Cunning Little Vixen (the mosquito), La Boheme, The Magic Flute(slave) and an opera scene from Die Fledermaus (Eisenstein). His favorite musical theatre shows from both the Boston and Buffalo metro areas include Into the Woods (Jack), The Wiz (Scarecrow) West Side Story (Tony) and scenes from Angels in America: Millennium Approaches (Louis). He has also sung with various churches in the metro Boston area. Recently he has become a member of Cappella Clausura based in Newton and will be singing in an a cappella series this fall.
Having taught pre-K through high school, as well as young adults to senior citizens, Mr. Campofelice embraces the unique journey every individual takes to learn and appreciate music. There is not one system that magically works for all, and it is his mission to guide each and every student through their own unique process. His overall goal as an instructor is to guide his students in becoming self-efficient artists and musicians, and to use those skills to help others.
